Register in person at the Aztec Aquaplex or by phone (619) 594-7946 after May 14, 2009. Phone registrants are required to complete a Youth Waiver Form prior to the start of the first lesson. Lessons are June 15 - August 6, 2009.
Wait List
There is a 24 hour policy for all wait lists; if we do not hear back from you within 24 hours of placing a call, the space in the class will be filled by the next available person.
What to Expect
For swimmers – Lessons will be very active and energetic. Participants will interact with other swimmers and instructors during their lessons and will be supervised for the entirety of their lesson. Lessons include aquatic skills and games while always putting safety first. All lessons are American Rec Cross Learn-to-Swim Certified.
For parents – Parents are required to stay at the facility during their child’s lesson for safety and security reasons. Parents may watch lessons from the bleachers or deck, relax in the Aquaplex lobby, or purchase a membership/ pass and lap swim in the 50-meter pool. To prevent children from losing focus, we ask that parents do not swim with their child before or after their lessons in the rec pool. We encourage parents to return with their children during family swim hours.
What to bring
Swimmers should have an appropriate swim suit, towel, and be ready to have fun for every lesson. Swim goggles and caps are optional for all levels. It is highly recommended that swimmers wear sunscreen for every lesson. We recommend titanium dioxide sunblocks applied 15 minutes prior to exposure.
Pool Info
Lessons will take place in the recreation pool of the Aquaplex. The pool is continuously regulated to ensure a proper chemical balance and a comfortable water temperature of 83° to 84°.
