Rules

General Facility:

  1. Swim only when an AQUAPLEX Lifeguard is on duty.
  2. Lifeguards have the responsibility for the safety of all facility users, follow their directions at all times.
  3. If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you will be asked to leave the AQUAPLEX, immediately. Please be responsible for your health and safety.
  4. Proper swimming attire is required, including bathing suits, board shorts, or rash guards. Cotton clothing, cut off jeans, Brazilian or G-string bathing suits are NOT APPROPRIATE SWIMMING ATTIRE AND ARE NOT ALLOWED. For females, appropriate swimwear is that which covers the breasts, buttocks, genitals and pubic regions. For males, appropriate swimwear is that which covers the buttocks, genitals and pubic region, i.e., specifically street clothes, thong and see-through swimwear are prohibited.
  5. “Deck Changing” or changing your clothes on the swimming pool deck is prohibited at all times.
  6. Please DO NOT enter the water if you have any open cuts, sores, wounds or infectious diseases.
  7. Please DO NOT enter the water if you have had diarrhea, stomach flu or have been severely sick in the last two weeks.
  8. Swimmers are NOT allowed to practice hypoxic breathing or under water breathing control drills at any time.
  9. Rough housing and horseplay are not permitted.
  10. Smoking is prohibited inside the facility and within 20 feet of the facility parameter.
  11. In an emergency, you will hear one long blast of a whistle; stop whatever you are doing and follow the AQUAPLEX staff’s instructions.
  12. Always walk on the pool deck, don't run.
  13. Children 12 years of age and younger must be supervised by an adult (over 18 years of age) in the AQUAPLEX at all times.
  14. Children who are not “water safe” must be within arms reach of an adult at ALL times while within the water. “Water Safe” is defined as a child who can safely tread water and demonstrate forward momentum above and below the water, and can demonstrate breath control. Lifeguards have the discretionary authority to require an adult to be in the water with any child.
  15. Children, who are not toilet trained, MUST wear NON-DISPOSABLE swim diapers. No exceptions! These may be purchased in the locker room/restroom vending machine.
  16. All participants are encouraged to lock their valuables up at all times.
  17. AQUAPLEX employees are not responsible for personal belongings.
  18. Glass containers are prohibited inside the AQUAPLEX at ALL times.
  19. All guests must exit the water and pool deck ten (10) minutes before the posted closing time. The posted closing time is when the facility will be locked to the public; this means you must exit the bathrooms by the designated close time.
  20. Before entering pool area, a hot soapy shower is highly recommended.
  21. Please put your sun screen on at least 15 minutes before entering the pool.
  22. Please do NOT use any kind of tanning OIL as it damages the filtration system.
  23. Food and beverages, in plastic containers, is allowed on the deck/lounge chair area. Food is not allowed in the water. Please clean-up any trash after you are finished.
  24. Participants who become verbally abusive or use explicit language with the AQUAPLEX staff will be asked to leave, and may be banned from the facility.
  25. No roller-skates, roller blades, skateboards, scooters or bicycles are permitted to be ridden within the AQUAPLEX. Skateboards may be checked into the guest services staff.
  26. No pets are allowed in the facility.
  27. Please respect others and refrain from public displays of affection while using the AQUAPLEX.
  28. Chewing gum is NOT allowed in the AQUAPLEX facility at any time.
  29. In the event of inclement weather, the AQUAPLEX may close
  30. certain sections of the pool or the entire facility due to visual and safety limitations.
  31. While Athletic teams are using the 50 Meter Pool no other swimmers may enter their area of training.

50 Meter Pool:

  1. Children under the age of 18 are not allowed in the 50 Meter Pool unless they have passed the deep water test in the recreation pool first. The deep water swim test consists of half a length of freestyle, demonstrating side breathing and forward momentum on the surface of the water, half a length of backstroke demonstrating constant forward momentum and excellent body position, and treading water for 30 seconds. A lifeguard will monitor the swim test in the recreational pool and then accompany the child to the 50 Meter Pool for the deep water portion of the test.
  2. Lap lanes are for lap swimming only. If you want to participate in free swim please see the facility hours and availability for current information.
  3. Do not swim under the bulkhead or through the lap lanes at anytime.
  4. Set-up for the pool varies. Please check the schedule, the web site or with the front desk staff to determine what activities are available. Classes and rentals may restrict the availability of certain areas of the pool.
  5. Somersaults, back dives and other inappropriate entries from the deck or bulkhead are not permitted.
  6. Children or adults wearing life jackets are not permitted to enter the 50 Meter Pool.
  7. Lap lanes are for continuous swimming. Be considerate of others. Two or more people can swim in a lane. Circle swim by staying to the right.
  8. Return all equipment (kick boards, pull buoys, rafts, noodles, etc.) to the storage bins after using.
  9. Starting blocks are not for recreational use. Qualified instructors or coaches are required for supervision during usage.
  10. Hanging on the lane lines is not permitted.
  11. Lifeguards or any staff member reserves the right to remove anyone from the pool.

Diving Board Rules:

  1. In order to use the diving boards, children under the age of 18 must pass the deep water swim test, which may be taken ONLY in the recreation pool.
  2. If you have taken the deep water test, you must show the lifeguard stationed at the diving boards the pass of the day.
  3. The diving boards are only available when there is a lifeguard present to supervise divers.
  4. Follow the lifeguards instructions at all times.
  5. Be sure there is no one swimming under the diving board is clear before diving.
  6. Only one person on a board at a time.
  7. No running on the diving boards.
  8. Only one bounce is permitted on the diving board, no multiple bounces.
  9. Dive straight off the end of the board.
  10. Swim to the nearest ladder or side of the pool and exit immediately. DO NOT swim directly beneath the diving board to exit the pool.
  11. Wait for the person ahead of you to touch the wall before walking out onto the diving board.
  12. No unorthodox diving, dangerous dives, chain dives, or rough play on the boards (such as handstands, butt bouncing, or sailor dives).
  13. A maximum of four (4) people is allowed on the 3-meter diving board platform. Additional users should wait on the deck, at the bottom of the stairs for space to become available.
  14. Anyone not adhering to these rules will be asked to forfeit their privileges and leave the area.
  15. The lifeguards have the right to request you to stop any dive they feel is dangerous.
  16. The fulcrum is to remain on the lowest setting at all times, please do not adjust it!
  17. When the diving boards are in use no other swimming is permitted in that area of the pool.
  18. Failure to obey these warnings may result in sudden, forceful head first contact with the water, an object, or another swimmer, and may lead to a serious spinal injury or death.

Hydro-Therapy Spa Rules:

  1. Elderly persons, pregnant women, infants and those with health conditions requiring medical care should consult a physician before entering the spa.
  2. You must be of 18 years of age to use the hydro-therapy spa.
  3. Do not use the spa/hot tub while under the influence of alcohol, tranquilizers or other drugs that cause drowsiness or that raise or lower blood pressure.
  4. Never use the Hydrotherapy Spa without a lifeguard on deck.
  5. Long exposure may result in nausea, dizziness or fainting.
  6. Observe reasonable time limits of 10 to 15 minutes. Then leave the water and cool down before returning for another brief stay. Do not use at water temperature greater than 104F degrees.
  7. Please do not submerge your head under the water for long periods of time.
  8. No diving or horseplay at any time.
  9. Please be courteous to all our guests and vacate the spa when maximum occupancy has been met and others are waiting their turn. When maximum occupancy occurs, please do not use the spa for any longer than 10 minutes.

Recreational/Family Swim Rules:

  1. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  2. No children under the age of 18 may use the floating lounges.
  3. When the floating lounges are in use NO one may swim beneath them, and no free swim may happen in that section of the pool.
  4. Do not run down the zero depth entry into the water.
  5. Do not hang or play on the railings.
  6. NO DIVING into the recreation pool at any time.
  7. Please jump in areas that are 3 feet or deeper, or use the zero depth entry and ladders/stairs to access the water.
  8. While the lap lanes are in use please do not swim through them or participate in free swim in them.
  9. The water volleyball or basketball equipment is on a first come first serve basis. You must have a valid ID to check out this equipment, and the equipment is only available during recreational swim hours.
  10. All life jackets must be Coast Guard approved, and the wearer must be with in arm’s length of a responsible adult at all times. U.S. Coast Guard approved floatation devices are permitted. Please check with a lifeguard or guest services staff member to ensure any floatation device you bring in is acceptable prior to entering the pool deck. Coast Guard approved life jackets are available for check-out at the front desk.
  11. Floaties, children’s floatation swimsuits, inflatable rings and inflatable devices used in place of swimming skills are not allowed. The Lifeguard on-duty or AQUAPLEX Coordinator will determine if an item is allowable.
  12. Floatation devices that prevent the lifeguard from seeing the bottom of the pool are not permitted.
  13. Children under the age of twelve MUST be supervised by parents at all times. Parents who leave children under the age of twelve unattended may have their membership suspended.
  14. The deep water swim test may only be taken in the Recreation pool with a designated lifeguard. The test consists of half a length of freestyle and backstroke, both demonstrating proper horizontal body position, rotary breathing and forward locomotion. Treading water for 30 seconds in the 50 Meter Pool is also required to pass the swim test. Once the deep water test has been passed, a unique mark of the day will be written on your hand with a black marker.
  15. Kickboards and pull-buoys are for adult lap swimmers only. Children participating in swim lessons will be permitted to use designated kickboards.
  16. Children may bring appropriate water toys into the facility. Please do not bring hard toys, balls or squirt guns.
  17. While water aerobics classes are taking place, please do not swim across the area being utilized.
